Just to let you know that I think your timber footbridge over the Jubilee River (identified as number 17 and could be known as Chalvey Rail or the Allotments bridge) is in serious need of inspection and attention.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

[This footbridge is just upstream of Slough Weir]<\/div>\n

You may not be aware that Berry Hill<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Ashford Lane<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and Black Potts<\/a><\/strong><\/span> footbridges are in a similar position.\u00a0 Furthermore, I am concerned that while these footbridges were all designed and constructed by the Environment Agency – they were then handed over to the local authorities.\u00a0 Please see attached image of a failing joint.<\/div>\n

[The image below shows a failing joint on Bridge number 17. I just cannot understand how the joint manufacturing process led to so many small segments of timber.\u00a0 \u00a0In my opinion these segments shorten the structural lifespan by facilitating water ingress thus accelerating rot.\u00a0 The image below is IMG_0077.JPG dated 31\/8\/205]<\/div>\n
