{"id":2690,"date":"2025-10-09T16:00:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T15:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/?p=2690"},"modified":"2025-10-12T10:09:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T09:09:08","slug":"datchet-parish-council-publishes-false-claims-about-drcct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/?p=2690","title":{"rendered":"Datchet Parish Council continues to publish false claims about the DRCCT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Datchet Parish Council is still publishing false claims about being the trustee of the DRCCT<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 \u00a0Today (9\/10\/2025 and updated 12\/10\/2025) and despite my request for them to be deleted &#8211; <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">these false claims and assertions can still be found (12-10-2025) on the DPC website<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.datchetparishcouncil.gov.uk\/_VirDir\/CoreContents\/News\/Display.aspx?id=75775\">here.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Screenshots here \u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/DPC-web-page-screenshots-12-10-2025.docx\">DPC web page screenshots 12-10-2025<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Below is the text of the Datchet Parish Council web page.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s examine some of these claims and assertions.<\/p>\n<p>The DPC statement is in black &#8211; <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">and my response in red<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"published\"><em>Published: 12 May 2025<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Statement from Datchet Parish Council regarding the unofficial DRCCT website<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"157\" data-end=\"408\">Please be advised that the website\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.drcct.org\/\" target=\"_new\" data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"205\">www.drcct.org<\/a><\/strong> is not an official site of the Datchet Recreation Centre Charitable Trust (DRCCT).\u00a0 <strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Untrue &#8211; where is the evidence to support this assertion? <\/span><\/em><\/strong>It was created without the approval or consultation with the new interim DRCCT Management Committee <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(you can find the names of these people <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.datchetparishcouncil.gov.uk\/_UserFiles\/Files\/Documents\/Website%20Statement%20-%20Datchet%20Parish%20Council%20Takes%20Action%20to%20Ensure%20Proper%20Governance%20of%20the%20Datchet%20Recreation%20Centre%20Charitable%20Trust.pdf\">here<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> but anyway the DRCCT does not need &#8216;interim committee&#8217; approval) <\/span><\/strong><\/em>or Datchet Parish Council (DPC) <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(the DRCCT web site does not need DPC approval)<\/span><\/strong><\/em>. The DPC is the sole legal and managing trustee of the DRCCT, <strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(an unsubstantiated claim) <\/span><\/em><\/strong>as listed by the Charity Commission, <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(not true &#8211; see the <a href=\"https:\/\/register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk\/en\/charity-search\/-\/charity-details\/252303\/trustees?_uk_gov_ccew_onereg_charitydetails_web_portlet_CharityDetailsPortlet_organisationNumber=252303\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Charity Commission page<\/span><\/a> for the names of the Trustees &#8211; Ewan Larcombe and Monica Davies) <\/span><\/strong><\/em>and is legally responsible for the charity\u2019s management and assets <strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(the DRCCT Trustees EL and MD are responsible for the DRCCT assets and have a legal duty to protect those assets) <\/span><\/em><\/strong>As the DPC or the official committee does not authorise the website, its content should not be considered impartial or necessarily factual. Now <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Now that is really good advice for any web page content, but particularly applicable to the information on <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.datchetparishcouncil.gov.uk\/_VirDir\/CoreContents\/News\/Display.aspx?id=75775\">this Datchet Parish Council web page. <\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>For official information about DRCCT, please contact the DPC Clerk.\u00a0<em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Just try requesting information about the DRCCT from the Clerk &#8211; and good luck)<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"813\"><strong data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"813\">Update on new DRCCT Management Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"1148\">The DPC, as the sole managing trustee, dissolved the previous DRCCT Committee following serious governance issues, including an upheld complaint of bullying and harassment of DPC staff. Former committee members are refusing to cooperate and thus are blocking the smooth transition of the operation of the Village Hall complex.\u00a0 The DPC urges the former committee to cooperate to ensure a full and proper handover. If this continues, the DPC will implement its legal options.
