{"id":3650,"date":"2026-03-23T09:19:03","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T09:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/?p=3650"},"modified":"2026-03-23T15:29:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T15:29:46","slug":"a-problem-at-datchet-parish-council-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/?p=3650","title":{"rendered":"A problem at Datchet Parish Council Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is nearly one year since the Datchet Parish Council Chair and Clerk commenced their failed attempt to hijack the assets of the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk\/en\/charity-search\/-\/charity-details\/252303\">Datchet Recreation Centre Charity Trust<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (DRCCT).\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>DPC have now received Notice to Vacate the Parish Office<\/strong><\/span> from the DRCCT.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3653\" src=\"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0706-850x567.jpg 850w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s going on here?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DPC has no lease or licence for the building<\/li>\n<li>DPC failed to comply with the DoR* agreement<\/li>\n<li>DPC confirms that the DRCCT own the land and building<\/li>\n<li>DPC has used parish money to fund their failed legal claim<\/li>\n<li>DPC has refused access for inspection purposes<\/li>\n<li>DPC has now been served &#8216;Notice to Vacate&#8217;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Division of Responsibilities<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>And the irony &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Datchet Parish Council is already well into an ongoing and very costly two-year legal claim (on its way to Court) to regain control of RBWM land leased to DPC (the Land at Mill Place).<\/li>\n<li>Datchet Parish Council is simultaneously refusing to vacate a building they do not own, have no lease for and pay no rent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Talk about &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>double standards<\/strong><\/span>&#8216; &#8211; and as for the legal costs &#8211; guess who pays?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is nearly one year since the Datchet Parish Council Chair and Clerk commenced their failed attempt to hijack the assets of the Datchet Recreation Centre Charity Trust (DRCCT).\u00a0 DPC have now&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[35,172,170,209],"class_list":["post-3650","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-datchet","tag-datchet-parish-council","tag-drcct","tag-drcct-hijack"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
