The Land Drainage Act 1991, Section 23 states:<\/p>\n

23\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>Prohibition on obstructions etc. in watercourses<\/span><\/h4>\n

(1)<\/span>No person shall\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

(a) <\/span>erect any mill dam, weir or other like obstruction to the flow of any ordinary watercourse or raise or otherwise alter any such obstruction; or<\/span><\/p>\n

[<\/span>F1<\/a>(b)<\/span><\/span>erect a culvert in an ordinary watercourse, or<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(c)<\/span><\/span>alter a culvert in a manner that would be likely to affect the flow of an ordinary watercourse,<\/span>]<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

without the consent in writing of the drainage board concerned.<\/p>\n
