Black Potts footbridge is about to collapse into the Jubilee River.\u00a0 Constructed about 25 years ago (by the Environment Agency), this timber structure has been closed since June 2025 and is on its last legs.\u00a0 The beams are bending, the joints rotten and the bridge is steadily sagging towards the water.\u00a0 One joint in particular has failed dramatically and the comparative images are shown below.\u00a0 I will not be surprised if this bridge fails before the end \u00a0of 2026.\u00a0 Before you ask – RBWM is responsible for this footbridge.<\/p>\n
