{"id":441,"date":"2024-01-18T09:33:31","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T09:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/?p=441"},"modified":"2024-01-18T10:26:01","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T10:26:01","slug":"surrey-county-council-and-the-river-thames-scheme-partnership-funding-problem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dhwnews.com\/?p=441","title":{"rendered":"Surrey County Council and the River Thames Scheme Partnership Funding problem?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In response to a public question I have examined the SCC 2024\/5 draft budget.\u00a0 These figures are subject to confirmation but\u00a0SCC draft forecast spend is\/was as follows;<\/p>\n<p>2024\/5 = \u00a38m,\u00a0 2025\/6 = \u00a320m, 2026\/7 = \u00a330, 2027\/8\u00a0 = \u00a330m, 2028\/9 = \u00a335m<\/p>\n<p>I believe SCC actual spend to date on the RTS is about \u00a312m.<\/p>\n<p>Total forecast 2024\/5 to 2028\/9 = \u00a3123m plus \u00a312m spend to date = <strong>\u00a3135m<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My concern is as follows:\u00a0 <strong>The River Thames Scheme is a big project (\u00a370m spent to date) that has fallen ever further behind.\u00a0 The Surrey County Council budget graph time axis is TOO SHORT AND FAILS TO REVEAL THE FULL AMOUNT of the \u00a3230m RTS partnership funding contribution commitment agreed by SCC at their meeting in 2019 when the project was announced as fully funded.\u00a0 And as to whether this project is affordable or at risk &#8211; this is a question for Tim Oliver at SCC. <a title=\"Send email to Tim Oliver\" href=\"mailto:tim.oliver@surreycc.gov.uk\">tim.oliver@surreycc.gov.uk<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In response to a public question I have examined the SCC 2024\/5 draft budget.\u00a0 These figures are subject to confirmation but\u00a0SCC draft forecast spend is\/was as follows; 2024\/5 = \u00a38m,\u00a0 2025\/6 =&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-441","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Surrey County Council and the River Thames Scheme Partnership Funding problem?
