Cabinet Meeting 29TH October 2019<\/p>\n

SUBJECT: FUNDING FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT IN SURREY<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

RECOMMENDATIONS:<\/p>\n

Cabinet is recommended to:<\/p>\n

1. Approve in principle to the council’s investment of \u00a3270m to deliver the objectives<\/p>\n

of Surrey’s Flood Risk Management Strategy.<\/p>\n

2. Approve the development of new governance arrangements to oversee the<\/p>\n

delivery of Surrey’s Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and separate<\/p>\n

arrangements for overseeing the delivery of the River Thames Scheme along<\/p>\n

with a risk sharing agreement, the detail to be brought to Cabinet for further<\/p>\n

approval in early 2020.<\/p>\n

3. Approve the commissioning of a master planning exercise for the River Thames<\/p>\n

Corridor to maximise the opportunities from the River Thames Scheme.<\/p>\n
