Datchet Parish Councillors continue in their attempt to hijack a local charity.

Posted on June 1, 2025June 3, 2025 by ecwlarcombe

We are now in June and nine members of Datchet Parish Council are apparently seeking legal advice in support of their claim to be the ‘sole managing trustee’ of the Datchet Recreational Centre Charity Trust (DRCCT).   Their objective is to take control of the DRCCT and its substantial charity assets.   Guess who will pay for this advice?

In fact the majority of these nine individuals have been on the Council for less than two years – and have been co-opted rather than elected.  Consequently Datchet Parish Council no longer meets the legal requirements for ‘General Competence.’

In April 2025 the DRCCT address and contact details were changed on the Charity Commission website.  How did this happen?

The correct contact details for the DRCCT are reproduced from the 2023/24 accounts as follows:

REFERENCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS
Registered Charity number 252303
Principal address:  3 Allen Way, Datchet, Slough, SL3 9HR

Trustees:

E C Larcombe Chairman,

M Davies Treasurer

Independent Examiner
Tim O’Brien CA
The Green
Datchet
Berkshire
SL3 9AS

The correct contact details for the DRCCT can be found in the 2023/24 accounts that can be downloaded from here

Details of DRCCT annual accounts and financial performance including 2023/24 can be located and downloaded from the Charity Commission web site here.  The 2024/25 accounts have still to be finalised and will be uploaded in time to meet the nine-month submission deadline .

You can be assured that the 2024/25 accounts will make very interesting reading.

Meanwhile you can also be confident that the DRCCT will continue to be managed for the benefit of the community by a small group of trustworthy, reliable, experienced and capable local people.

The previous detailed report about ‘Nine Datchet Parish Councillors named in failed attempt to hijack local Charity assets’ can be found here.
