This is the response from Cllr David Buckley dated 15/10/2025 (10.17 AM) and cc’d to the Clerk and Cllrs Young, Bacon and Glover.
Hi Ewan
I will reply clearly that as the sole trustee of the DRCCT, Datchet parish council do not recognise you or Ms Davies in any capacity in relation to the charity.
The recent unapproved change to the Charity Commission website has no legal bearing on the legal action that is ongoing between yourself and ms Davis v datchet parish council and the DRCCT.
I will reiterate that all communication should be presented by you to your solicitors, who are acting for yourself and ms Davies as individuals, then directed to our legal representatives at Wellers Law Group and not directed at any member or employee of the parish council.
I hope you can adhere to this polite request and that the parish council does not need to take further action on your continuing harassment due to your denial to accept the decisions and facts that you no longer hold any legal positions in the charity. You were removed from office in April 2025 and that position still stands. You continue to stand in the way of a managed transition of management and are harassing, using money from the charity to pay for your personal legal fees and put the parish council into disrepute. This is all caused by your denial of the processes that took place earlier in the year, even though they were carried out under guidance from the legal team specialising in charity law. You are doing this purely out of personal need for yourself and ms Davies, not the charity or the parish council.
We hope you can see the error of your ways and support a managed transition from the old management of the village hall and charity to the new but we withhold our right to take further action on this matter if your denial of the facts continue.
Again we will be communicating all correspondence through your legal representatives and not directly with you to maintain accuracy and legal precedence on the ongoing legal action in hand. I suggest you do the same to protect your personal position on this matter.
Best Regards
Cllr David Buckley

The Slough Observer article:
Some Charity Commission commentary on misinformation and disinformation:
- While it is not unusual for charities to be impacted by societal tensions and engaged in tackling their causes and consequences, a number of factors are currently contributing to a challenging climate.
- This is due not least to the proliferation of mis/disinformation and the polarised nature of social media, which can see charities become targets of criticism and in some cases has resulted in charities themselves engaging in inappropriate social media communications.
- Misinformation relates to onward sharing of misguided information while disinformation relates to deliberate attempts to misinform. Both can either be generated by third parties about charities – including from overseas sources, for example those with large social media followings – or on occasions by charities themselves.
- Regardless of the form they take, misinformation and disinformation present risks to public trust in the sector.
- Charities are usually best placed to use their communications channels to address incorrect information, but where appropriate the Commission will also step in.
- Charities should take care to ensure that information they share is factually accurate, which also helps build trust among audiences for any occasion where the charity needs to ‘debunk’ incorrect claims about their work.
