Wraysbury – a timely flooding reminder

How quickly we forget past flood incidents – so here is a 20 second memory jogging video from 2024 – Wraysbury Village Green under water (yet again).

It is probably fair to ask the question – what causes this flooding?  My answer is that there is a known problem with the local land drainage infrastructure.  The Wraysbury Drain has been blocked for many years (maybe even decades?) downstream at Feather’s Lane.  This problem was reported in 2019 and has still to be fixed.
