UPDATED – 23/7/2026
Dear Eonnext – Two weeks ago you emailed me to state that I was reconnected. Thanks to the engineer (not an Eon employee) I am now connected on 23rd July after two weeks without electricity. I did not even know I had no gas because I only had a gas boiler but no electricity. Your engineer had to fit two new meters because your Smart meters failed. It appears that the meters had been switched off remotely and then could not be switched back on. From a customer’s viewpoint (that’s me) this is totally unacceptable. Not only sub-standard equipment but also very poor service.
Because you would not send an engineer to 59LC until 23rd July (and please note that you are taking money from my account without supplying gas or electricity) I am a very unhappy customer and will spend my time and effort on making people aware of you and your Smart Meter ‘shortcomings’
My so-called smart electricity meter is not supplying electricity. Today is now 16-7-2026
We are repeatedly told that smart meters make things easy. I changed both the electricity and gas supplier from Ovo to EonNext.
I received an email from EonNext stating that the supply had been turned on.
Unfortunately the Anclara smart electricity meter has not been remotely unlocked by the supplier – a simple problem you would have thought. I have repeatedly requested – please just reconnect the meter remotely and promptly.
Today is 12/7/2026 – and the meter is 5 miles from Heathrow Airport – not in the Falkland Islands. I am told that it needs an engineer and the first available date is 23/7/2026. Surely this time delay is just unreasonable, unbelievable and unacceptable.
What do you think?
