Whatever happened to Datchet Volunteers?

Posted on November 4, 2026 by ecwlarcombe

Whatever happened to Datchet Volunteers?  There is a record as follows: Datchet Volunteers CIC – on Companies House – Company number 14561514 that will give you the Directors names and the most recent accounts.

Facebook reads as follows:  Datchet Volunteers – Facebook – Private group – 407 members.   About this group.
This page was originally set up to help the elderly, self isolating and vulnerable people of Datchet cope during the Covid-19 outbreak. As we are learning to live with Covid and our requests for assistance have dwindled over the last 6 months, we thought it would be a nice idea to turn this group into a volunteer group that deals with matters that are a priority for the Datchet community and provide a helping hand do those issues that are at the forefront of everyone’s minds. During times of crisis or emergency such as the recent pandemic, the Company will provide emergency support services to anyone in the Datchet Community who is elderly or vulnerable. We are still available for those requiring assistance with shopping / prescription requests whilst they are self isolating. Our phone number remains the same as 01753 905247. Our email address as changed to:  datchetvolunteers@gmail.com
If you can volunteer to support your Neighbours in Datchet send us a Pm with your full address, contact details (incl. mobile & email address for correspondence) and whether you are available on WhatsApp so we can respond to you. To see how we use both volunteers and residents data please read our Privacy and GDPR Policy here by clicking on the following link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0smayjzlpuuxot3/DCV%20Privacy%20and%20GDPR.docx?dl=0.
Ideally we are looking for a number of volunteers in each street to look after a set number of neighbours but in emergency situations all volunteers will be appreciated to support those neighbours who request help. We appreciate everyones circumstances and level of support will vary but please when messaging, outline what you feel you can do on the following services: Shopping, postal support, urgent supplies or even telephone support for those neighbours who feel cut off and isolated and need to hear a friendly voice.
