VOTING RESULTS – Election – Wraysbury PC – 8th January 2026

An election was held  TODAY – Thursday 8th January 2026 to fill one vacancy on Wraysbury Parish Council.

The poll was held at Wraysbury Village Hall on 8 January 2026 between the hours of 7am and 10pm.

Billy Boyle (120)     Gerry O’Rourke (213).

Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address below by 11.59pm on Wednesday, 17 December 2025. Applications can be made via

Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at at the address shown below by 5pm on Thursday, 18 December 2025.


Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday, 30 December 2025.

DATCHET

The name "Datchet" is thought to be Celtic in origin, and the last part may be related to cet ("wood"). In the Domesday Book it is called "Daceta".lla. Datchet is first mentioned between 990 and 994, when King Ethelred made small grants of land here.

HORTON

The village name "Horton" is a common one in England. It is Old English in origin and derives from the two words horu 'dirt' and tūn 'settlement, farm, estate', presumably meaning 'farm on muddy soil'.In the Domesday Book of 1086 it was recorded as Hortune.

WRAYSBURY

The village name was traditionally spelt Wyrardisbury; it is Anglo Saxon in origin and means 'Wïgrǣd's fort'. Its name is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Wirecesberie and as Wiredesbur in 1195. The name is seen again as Wyrardesbury in 1422.
