The Datchet Recreation Centre Charitable Trust (DRCCT), Charity Number 252303, has confirmed that its independent trustees remain the lawful trustees of the charity.
In April 2025, some Datchet Parish Councillors publicly claimed ownership of the charity’s assets and changed the locks on the charity’s buildings, excluding the Charity trustees from their own premises. The DRCCT is, and has always been, a charity independent of Datchet Parish Council.
The trustees are now working to recover full access to the charity’s buildings and to return operations to normal, in the interests of the many residents and community groups who rely on the Datchet Hall, Parish Council Office and Football Club buildings.
The DRCCT was established in 1967 by Datchet resident Denys Randolph to promote the social, moral, and physical wellbeing of people in Datchet and the surrounding district. The Charity Trust owns the Sabatini Land and the village hall complex for the benefit of the whole community. After the buildings are recovered the trustees are planning to hold a public meeting where residents will be able to ask questions and learn more about the charity and its assets. For further information, residents can visit www.drcct.org or view the charity accounts signed and filed on the Charity Commission register here.
