A NOTE TO RBWM FINANCE – There are now three unusable Jubilee River timber footbridges. I am just checking that the Black Potts footbridge (crossing the Jubilee River from Datchet to Eton) replacement costs will be included in the RBWM 2027/28 Draft Budget. RBWM is responsible for this footbridge which is rotten and collapsing – and now closed for over one year [since about June 2025]. Potential costs include demolition and removal of the existing dangerous structure before a new bridge can be installed. As for my personal estimate of total costs – these could be £1m dependent on material selection and complexity of design.
